Parasailing Boats (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect when you use https://boatsparasailing.com, how we use it, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and similar privacy laws.

1. Data we collect

  • Account data — when you register, we store your email, hashed password, and optional display name.
  • Comments — author name, email, IP-derived spam score, and the comment body.
  • Newsletter — your email address and the page you signed up from.
  • Contact form — name, email, subject, and message you submit.
  • Analytics — anonymized usage data such as page views, referrer, browser type, and approximate region.
  • Server logs — IP address, timestamp, and request path, retained for security and abuse prevention.

2. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Strictly necessary — authentication tokens that keep you signed in.
  • Preferences — theme, language, and consent state.
  • Analytics — anonymized identifiers used by Google Analytics 4 (only when consent is given).

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.

3. Comments

Comments are public. Your display name and comment body are visible to everyone; your email is never shown publicly. We may moderate, edit, or remove comments that violate our community guidelines.

4. Newsletter

Our newsletter uses double opt-in: after you subscribe you must click a confirmation link before any campaigns are sent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email; unsubscribing removes your address from future sends within 24 hours.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization enabled. Analytics cookies are only set after you grant consent. Aggregated metrics help us understand which articles are useful and where to invest editorial effort.

6. Contact form data

Messages submitted through our contact form are stored in our database and forwarded to the editorial team. We retain submissions for up to 24 months to maintain context across follow-up correspondence, after which they are deleted unless you have an open ticket.

7. Third-party services

We rely on the following processors:

  • Managed cloud platform — hosting, database, and authentication.
  • Google Analytics 4 — anonymized usage analytics.
  • Email delivery — transactional and newsletter email infrastructure.
  • Cloudflare — edge caching and DDoS protection.

Each processor handles data under its own privacy terms and a Data Processing Agreement with us.

8. Your rights

Under GDPR and similar laws you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority

9. Data retention

  • Account data — retained until you delete your account
  • Comments — retained as long as the article is published
  • Newsletter — until you unsubscribe
  • Contact submissions — up to 24 months
  • Server logs — 90 days
  • Analytics — 14 months (Google Analytics default)

10. International transfers

Some of our processors are based outside the EU/UK. Where this is the case, transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent adequacy mechanism.

11. Children

Parasailing Boats is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on the site or via email.
